Support a Student, Advance an Athlete
Recent NCAA legislation now allows for NCAA Division I athletic departments to provide a Cost of Attendance stipend to student-athletes. This Cost of Attendance stipend helps pay for things outside of a normal scholarship for student-athletes, such as traveling home for holidays, school supplies, and groceries.
While other schools in the Mountain West Conference have adopted legislation at the state level to cover this cost, Boise State must find other ways to make the adjustment. To help pay for this extra cost, Boise State Athletics created the Support a Student, Advance an Athlete program. For a donation of $1,000, individual donors are paired with a student-athlete from a sport of his/her choice for one academic year.
Donors to this program will receive a hand-written note from the student-athlete twice a year, a player card with background information on the student-athlete, a team poster of the selected sport signed by the student-athlete, and recognition of participation in the program displayed in the Allen Noble Hall of Fame.
Giving to the Support a Student, Advance an Athlete program will also increase your BAA donor level and accumulate priority points. If you are interested in selecting a sport and even a position to support, contact the BAA at (208) 426-3556.
